Northpine Foundation invests $200,000 in HanVoice’s historic refugee program

July 2, 2022

HanVoice announced today a strategic partnership with The Northpine Foundation, one of Canada's top private foundations that propel and expands human-centred innovation to support communities that encounter economic and social limitations in Canada. As part of a 32-month strategic partnership, Northpine Foundation has committed to an initial $200,000 investment in HanVoice’s historic refugee program.

HanVoice and Northpine Foundation will work together to build out a permanent and sustainable pathway for North Korean refugees to resettle and succeed in Canada.

Northpine’s investment will ensure the success of HanVoice’s groundbreaking pilot program to resettle 5 North Korean families in Canada and, as a result, help support a follow-on policy to scale the existing program and create a permanent and sustainable pathway for North Korean refugees.

Northpine’s focus is to support communities that encounter economic and social limitations. They achieve this initiative by designing, funding, and partnering on initiatives that improve community flourishing, combining best practices to invest in bold, new, and untried approaches.

Northpine’s investment will allow HanVoice to build a sustainable, strong, and growing charity with multiple streams of funding and strong community support. In particular, Northpine’s investment will enable HanVoice to hire its first full-time Executive Director to build the organizational infrastructure necessary to expand and scale the program.

Thanks to the generosity of Northpine, every cent of your donation goes directly towards sponsoring North Korean refugees.
